Summer Driving Safety Tip #10: Buckle up!
Summer means day camp, family vacations, youth sports, beach days, cruising the neighborhood, and more. With your kids out of school and your pets in need of a break from the heat, it’s understandable that your car is a little fuller than usual.
It’s a simple fact that seatbelts save lives.
Ensure your children, car seats, and pets are buckled up and/or secured. No one ever expects to experience a car crash, but you never want to risk your vehicle’s occupants. Children who are improperly buckled or pets who are allowed to roam free become a liability and a distraction. (Even taking your eyes off the road for two seconds is too long.)
When it comes to enforcing seat belt safety, wearing a seatbelt is non-negotiable, no matter where they are sitting. This goes for young children, tweens, teens, and even other adult passengers.
