Summer Driving Safety Tip #7: Watch Crosswalks.
Warm weather means more pedestrians are outside enjoying the sunshine. From popular shopping districts like Elmwood Village or Hertel Ave, to busy farmers markets in Kenmore and North Tonawanda, it’s not uncommon to see an abrupt increase in pedestrian traffic. The most important thing any driver can do is slow down, be mindful, and watch crosswalks.
Not all crosswalks have flashing lights or crossing guards to alert drivers, so it’s up to you to be vigilant. Don’t let distracted driving or impatience lead to a collision.
If you’ve been injured because a distracted or negligent driver failed to yield or stop, you could be entitled to compensation for unexpected medical bills, lost wages, or long-term pain and suffering.
