Winter Driving Safety Tip #3: Completely clear your vehicle of ice and snow.
Even on a bright, sunny day, it’s vital to take the time to clear ice and snow off all windows, mirrors, lights, and reflectors, as well as the hood, roof, and trunk of your vehicle.
Leaving ice or snow on your vehicle reduces visibility, creates blind spots, and limits your ability to properly react when changing lanes, turning corners, or approaching intersections. Leaving snow on the roof also puts you at risk for it sliding down your back window as it melts, obscuring your view.
As the driver, you are responsible for maintaining control of your vehicle and total visibility.
